Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya is the classic test track where every F1 team has spent countless hours - meaning drivers know every kerb here by heart. The demanding final sector with fast direction changes can decide the qualifying result. Catalan heat reaching 40 degrees during summer race weekends is a brutal challenge for tyre degradation and engine cooling. The track has hosted unforgettable battles - like the famous Maldonado vs Alonso fight in 2012 or Verstappen's dominance in the rain in 2016. After the Spanish Grand Prix moved to Madrid from 2026, Barcelona remains a key testing venue for Formula 1 teams.
