About the track
Circuito de Madrid is a brand-new track debuting on the Formula 1 calendar in the 2026 season, taking over the Spanish Grand Prix title from Barcelona. The facility built around the IFEMA exhibition complex was designed to deliver exciting races with numerous overtaking opportunities. Wide straights combined with technical sections of varying gradient are intended to challenge even the most experienced drivers. Madrid as the capital of Spain brings prestige and excellent infrastructure for hosting a Grand Prix. As the only track on the 2026 calendar without an established lap record, the inaugural race will write itself into Formula 1 history.
