Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez
About the track
Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez in Mexico City is the highest-altitude track on the F1 calendar, sitting at 2,240 m above sea level, which poses a unique engineering challenge. The thin air reduces engine power by approximately 20% and drastically lowers aerodynamic downforce, changing the car's behaviour in every corner. The iconic Foro Sol stadium section at the end of the lap is one of the loudest and most spectacular places in all of Formula 1 - 25,000 fans in the stadium grandstands create an atmosphere like a football match. The track is named after the Rodriguez brothers - Ricardo and Pedro - Mexican racing pioneers who both died on racing circuits. Sergio Perez as a national hero makes the Mexican Grand Prix one of the most emotional events on the calendar.
