About the track

The Monaco Grand Prix is the most prestigious race in Formula 1 history, held on the narrow streets of Monte Carlo continuously since 1950. Iconic sections - the tunnel leading into daylight, Casino Square, and the Swimming Pool chicane - create scenery you won't find at any other track in the world. Overtaking is nearly impossible here, so qualifying and pit-stop strategy determine the race outcome. The legendary Ayrton Senna won here six times, and his record qualifying lap from 1988 is regarded as one of the greatest in sporting history. Drivers race centimetres from barriers at speeds exceeding 250 km/h, where the slightest mistake ends the race in the wall. Monaco is the crown jewel of motorsport's Triple Crown - alongside the Indianapolis 500 and 24 Hours of Le Mans - and the dream of every F1 driver.
