Marina Bay Street Circuit
About the track
Marina Bay Street Circuit in Singapore is the first night race in Formula 1 history, held since 2008 against the backdrop of the city's spectacular illuminated skyline. The track with 23 corners (the most on the calendar) winds around Marina Bay, passing iconic buildings like Marina Bay Sands and the Esplanade. Extreme humidity exceeding 80% and air temperatures above 30 degrees make this the most physically demanding race of the season - drivers lose up to 3 kg of body weight during the race. The uneven street surface and zero margin for error at the barriers demand absolute concentration for nearly two hours of racing. Singapore is famous for dramatic safety cars and surprise results.
