About the track

Circuit of the Americas in Austin is the first purpose-built Formula 1 track in the USA, opened in 2012. Its layout pays homage to the best corners in the world - Turn 1 with its massive elevation gain is inspired by Silverstone, the fast esses recall Suzuka, and the long straight favours overtaking. Elevation changes of up to 40 metres make this track one of the most demanding in terms of terrain profile. COTA regularly delivers exciting races, and the Texan atmosphere with concerts and events makes the Grand Prix weekend a true motorsport celebration. This is where Lewis Hamilton has won five times, making Austin his lucky track.
