History and Information

Audi Revolut F1 Team is the latest incarnation of one of the most respected independent teams in Formula 1 history - Sauber, founded by Peter Sauber and debuting in F1 in 1993. Over more than three decades the Hinwil-based team has undergone many transformations - from independent Sauber, through a partnership with BMW, to the Alfa Romeo sponsorship. For the 2026 season came the biggest change in its history - acquisition by the Audi Group and transformation into a full factory team with its own power unit, developed at the technology centre in Neuburg, Germany. The project is led by Mattia Binotto, former Ferrari team principal, who brings vast experience in managing major F1 projects. Behind the wheel are Nico Hulkenberg - an experienced veteran valued for his qualifying speed - and Gabriel Bortoleto, the 2024 Formula 2 champion. Audi openly declares that the goal is to fight for the World Championship by 2030, and the enormous financial and technological resources of the German automotive giant give this plan a realistic foundation.
